We collect only what is needed to process and deliver your order. We do not sell your data to anyone, and we never have.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Mastery Books ("we", "us", "our"), based in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, India. We publish and sell printed and digital books.

2. What we collect
Your name, delivery address, pin code, phone number and email address — collected at checkout so we can deliver your order and contact you about it.
Handled entirely by our payment gateway. We receive only a confirmation of payment and the last few digits of the instrument. We never see or store your card, UPI or banking credentials.
IP address, browser type, device type and the pages you visit, collected automatically through cookies and analytics tools to keep the site working and improve it.
Anything you send us by email or WhatsApp, including photos or unboxing videos submitted with a damage claim, kept only to resolve that claim.
3. Why we use it
- To process, pack, dispatch and deliver your order, and to share tracking updates with you.
- To deliver digital copies and provide access to them.
- To respond to your questions, process damage claims, and provide after-sale support.
- To verify payments and prevent fraudulent or abusive orders.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations, including issuing invoices.
- To send occasional updates about new titles or offers — only if you have opted in, and you can opt out at any time.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes. Ever.
4. Who we share it with
We share only the minimum information needed, and only with the partners who help us run the business:
- Courier partners — your name, address and phone number, so the parcel can be delivered.
- Payment gateways — to process the transaction securely under their own privacy terms.
- Our e-commerce platform and hosting providers — who store the order data on our behalf.
- Communication tools — used to send order confirmations, tracking links and digital access.
- Government or legal authorities — only where we are required to do so by law, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
These partners may process data on servers located outside India. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data is protected to a comparable standard.
5. Cookies
- Essential cookies keep your cart, session and checkout working. The site cannot function without them.
- Analytics cookies help us understand which pages are useful and where visitors drop off.
- Advertising cookies may be used to measure the performance of our ads and show relevant products.
- You can block or delete cookies from your browser settings at any time. Blocking essential cookies may break checkout.
6. How long we keep it
Order and invoice records are kept for as long as required under applicable tax and accounting law in India. Support messages and claim evidence are kept only until the matter is closed, plus a short period in case it is reopened.
Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe. Once data is no longer needed for any of these purposes, it is deleted or anonymised.
7. How we protect it
- The website runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
- Payment data is handled entirely by PCI-compliant payment gateways and never touches our systems.
- Access to order data is limited to the people who need it to fulfil orders and provide support.
- No system is perfectly secure. We use reasonable safeguards, but cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.
8. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Erase your data, where we are not required to keep it by law.
- Withdraw consent for marketing communication at any time.
- Raise a grievance about how your data has been handled.

9. Children's data
Our store is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, write to us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The revised version, with its updated date, is published on this page and applies from the date it is posted. Please check back occasionally.
